We read the reviews and disagree with them. No roaches. The walls and ceilings could be updated. We had to kick the door to open it and push it really hard to close it. Other than that, it was great. The air kicked on. It felt good after an afternoon at Carowinds. We were happy with our decision
After reading the other reviews I almost didn't book here. But I'm glad I did. Room is clean. Hotel is Old so there is some wear, I was told the place has changed hands 3 times. My remote wasn't working, I went out in hallway and custodian was shampooing carpet. He changed batteries and found a working remote. I never seen any bugs of any kind. Also didn't see anyone that didn't seem to belong there. Didn't smell any weed smoking. My only disappointment was they haven't fully opened every thing back up since covid. So no pool, no gym, There are vending machines, some with food you can microwave. Plenty of restaurants and convenience stores closeby.
I was extremely tired when I arrived so I don't remember much other than the attractive Indian guy at the front desk. Bed was comfy and I felt safe.
The hotel is under renovation, and I'm sure it will be nice when finished. As of now you can't beat the price if you need a place to stay for a night or two. The location has everything you need within walking distance.
Clean rooms, no bugs, nice staff. I had a issue with my TV not working but maintenence fixed the problem in prompt timing. The restaurant is closed so I got something from the vending machine. It looks like renovations are taking place.
I don’t know what everyone is complaining about, this place is awesome!!! You do get what you pay for, and I got this room for a steal on Expedia, expecting the worst. I was surprised to find none of the things others were complaining about! Janell was running the counter, and she was very tentative with an infectious smile! I was blown away when I discovered we had own own balcony!?!?! We’ll totally be coming back! A+++
